Volunteering

We are always looking for volunteers to help us in various ways whether that is one off sharing of skills or as a regular commitment.  There are various ways in which you could volunteer, these are some examples:

• Youth Team Volunteers - Helping us run our youth work evenings.
• Youth Project Workers - Helping us run specific projects such as gardening or schools work.
• Youth Mentors - Being a good listener for a young person.
• Maintenance - People who like fixing things.
• Gardeners - Cutting grass, weeding, trimming hedges, planting, watering and weeding.
• Trustees and Advisory Board Members - Supporting all the volunteers and staff to do their best.

If you are interested in volunteering at The CUBE then please get in touch by email or by phone, we can then arrange a time for you to come and see us. We are a friendly team and would love to have a chat with you over a cup of tea and to show you around. This will be an opportunity to discuss what The Cube has to offer and what area you would like to be involved in. You will then receive a Volunteer Registration Form that will need to be filled in and returned to us. 

Once we receive your volunteer registration form, we will request references and If you are volunteering to work with young people we will also arrange a DBS check. We will also give you a full description of what the volunteer role involves. We will always be available to answer any queries you may have. 

Once your references and DBS are completed, then we will decide as an organisation whether to proceed. We will then agree with you a probation period. A probation period is normally about 10 hours of volunteering and once completed we will catch up with you to find out how you are getting on. If at any point we or yourselves feel that your involvement at The cube is not right then the process will be stopped.
