CHAIR OF TRUSTEES
The Board of Trustees of the Harborough Youth and Community Trust are looking to recruit a new Chair of Trustees. Our current Chair, Dawn O'Connell, is standing down in January 2025 after serving for 8 years.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Trustees of the Harborough Youth and Community Trust are volunteers from the local community in Market Harborough.
The Board of Trustees provide the charity with direction and ensure compliance in our operations.
We welcome any conversations with individuals who would like to explore further the needs of HYACT and the role of a Trustee.
COUNSELLOR (BACP Registered)
RATES: £50 per session
REPORT TO: Melissa Watson, Charity Wellbeing Lead,
To provide therapeutic support for young people aged 11-17.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy minimum Level 4
- Recognised qualification in Counselling for Children and Young People
- Membership of professional body, preferably BACP or UKCP
- Training in adult and child safeguarding
- Hold own insurance covering up to 5million
- Current DBS
- Have adequate professional personal supervision in place
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES
To the cube
- To undertake initial assessments for clients and to ensure that they fit within the clinical boundaries of the service.
- To commit to building a therapeutic relationship with clients on a weekly basis in one of the spaces provided by The Cube.
- To liaise closely with the Counselling Service Co-ordinator in order to ensure smooth operational running of the service.
- To work with the Counselling Service Co-ordinator by providing feedback, reviews and possible improvements.
- To attend quarterly meetings ran by the Counselling Service Co-ordinator.
- To maintain appropriate recording and monitoring keeping systems in line with the charity and data protection requirements.
- To meet the requirements of the service with regards to boundaries, confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Consider and act on safeguarding issues within the service in line with HYACTS policy and procedures
To the young people
- To ensure that clients are offered to evaluate the service upon completion of their counselling sessions.
- To help to build young people’s resilience through talking, creative work and play.
- To help young people to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.
Professional development
- To be prepared to continue education and professional training and meet CPD requirements.
ADVISORY BOARD
The Board of Trustees of the Harborough Youth and Community Trust are looking to recruit an Advisory Board.
Whilst we recognise and value the skills and expertise we have in our work with young people there are areas of running a small charity where we do not have the expertise.
We are looking for 'experts' who can advise us on being more efficient and effective in our non core activities such as:
- Looking after The CUBE building
- Looking after each other through Human Resource knowledge and experience
- Supporting our bank balance by working with our staff to fundraise
- Taking care of all those who access The CUBE through good Health and Safety practice.
- Taking care of the charity with advisors who understand how small charities best operate.
- Making the most of our space with short term building projects to develop The CUBE to best resource our work with young people.
